In Ep 22, Himari dies (or so we thought); Kanba tries to execute his plan but fails; however, Masako decides to help him escape by being a decoy. Her fate seems to have been death…
Episode 21 seemed to have answered questions that we wanted solved–Kanba has suddenly ushered into the role of the villain, and there is nothing Shoma could do about it; the Takakuras were finally confirmed dead; Sanetoshi is one of the main culprits after all; and Himari has taken it upon herself to try and stop Kanba.
Episode 20 relieved how Shoma and Himari first met, the Kiga group, and family raising questions.
Episode 21 however, answered some questions and finally put the series in a direction that we were all probably expecting: dark, full of lies, and characters clinging onto that one last hope.
Last episode we learned Kanba has been secretly been working for his parents, that Himari was not a relative of the Takakuras, and it was Shoma who saved her from the child broiler.
We were all steered in the direction of death–well, for Himari that is in Episode 18, as she was nearly going to die while in a bath tub–but, instead of her dropping down to the ground towards her doom, she is saved by Tabuki. But, episode 18 provided a new potential antagonist in…Kanba?!?
Episode 17 actually put us in story territory–after Himari sneaks out the hospital, Shoma and Kanba look for her, and must find her soon–except Tabuki finds them first.
Episode 16th’s focus revolved around Masako and her grandfather, their love of comparing things to very hilarious things, and blowfish. Oh, and we start to realize (if we hadn’t already) what characters are treading down the path of desperation…
In Ep 15, we learn (and meet) Momoka, the one Ringo’s been trying to be for half the anime, for the first time, and learn she has the power to change her fate. We also get a bit of background information with Yuri, and no, she does not rape Ringo.
