MangaNEXT is a fan run convention that focuses primarily on manga artists, writers and their fans. The convention started in 2006 and was the first to be completely dedicated to the Manga aspect of the fandom. Most of the panels I encountered were, just as promoted on the MangaNEXT website, devoted to helping young artists and writers. One of the wonderful parts about this convention is that it is smaller than the other local conventions, such as its sister convention AnimeNEXT or NYCC, and it’s not as short, like CPAC.
Three days of the manga fandom converging on the 5th iteration of MangaNEXT, for people interested in the manga industry this was the convention to go to. If you happen to be the people looking for stuff to do, you may not have been satisfied.
Well, there’s a reason why I had the MangaNEXT logo on the site: OASG will be covering the con! I can’t guarantee the length of the stay, meaning I can’t guarantee the early and somewhat late events; LC on the other hand…let’s just say she’ll figure something out I think! Anyways, you’ll probably see us in as many panels as humanly possible. You’ll probably recognize me wearing a NYG Super Bowl Hoodie (Guess I can never keep the football talk away huh?) You’ll also see me trying to ask stupid questions.
