Crackle has added a new series to its streaming service with Valkyria Chronicles now available there. The series originally aired in 2009 in Japan with animation production by a-1 Pictures.

The Comic Market Preparations Committee, the group responsible for organizing the largest d?jinshi event in the world, announced on Sunday that the event was sent a threat letter on October 29. The committee notified the Kitazawa Police (which has jurisdiction in this case) on October 30 and has been communicating with the Tokyo Big Sight event complex, the host of the semiannual event.

The Nozomi Entertainment branch of Right Stuf, Inc. made an interesting announcement today as they revealed that they will be releasing the Tezuka classic “Princess Knight” in limited edition DVD sets starting next year.

Avril Lavigne To Cover Nickelback Hit For Anime Movie (NME)
A cover of Nickelback’s ‘How You Remind Me’ by Avril Lavigne is set to feature on the soundtrack to a new anime film. Lavigne got engaged to Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger earlier this year. Her version of her fiance’s best-selling single will appear on the soundtrack to the latest film in the One Piece manga film series – One Piece Film Z.

Bishoujo Seven Deadly Sins Anime Announced (Crunchyroll News)
Hobby Japan and figures maker OrchidSeed’s Seven Deadly Sins franchise has taken the next step towards corrupting mankind with a new, non-18+ anime series based on the Ni? (Queen’s Blade’s Alice, Samurai Girls) designed line of girls personifying the capital vices. Queen’s Blade designer Hiraku Kaneko (Leina Vance, Cattleya) directs the production, reuniting writer Makoto Uezu (Humanity Has Declined) after sharing the same duties on Qwaser of Stigmata.

Majestic Prince Space Robot Has Anime In The Works (Anime News Network)
ANN confirmed that, as of Tuesday night, the register counters at Tokyo-area 7-Eleven convenience stores are showing a Monthly Hero’s magazine ad, and that ad reveals that an anime of Rando Ayamine and Hikaru Niijima’s Majestic Prince manga is in the works. Ayamine co-created the Getbackers manga and anime, before writing and designing this new manga that Niijima draws.

Weekly Shonen Jump Alpha Adds Cross Manage As New Series (The Fandom Post)
The Weekly Shonen Jump Alpha Twitter account has announced that starting with the 9/23 issue, the magazine will be adding Cross Manage to its line-up. The series comes from Kaito and follows the end of the recently started Barrage, which lasted only a handful of chapters before ending its run.

According to the official Twitter account, TV Anime Love Live! will be aired in January 2013. With a subtitle of School Idol Project, the Anime adaptation of the series was made in February this year.

Say Hello to Black Jack Manga Sold in English on Kindle (Anime News Network)
Amazon’s Kindle e-book store began offering Shuho Sato’s ‘Say Hello to Black Jack’ manga in English under the title Give My Regards to Black Jack late last week. Sato had announced in April that he would make all derivative usage of the title, both commercial and non-commercial, free of restrictions for anyone as of this past Saturday, September 15.

Right Stuf, Viki License The Rose of Versailles Anime (Anime News Network)
North American anime distributor Right Stuf announced on Wednesday that it acquired TMS Entertainment’s classic historical shojo anime The Rose of Versailles, and the company licensed the right to stream the anime to the online video site Viki. Right Stuf will release the 40-episode anime in two limited-edition DVD sets next year, and Viki will begin streaming the anime to the United States and Canada in December.

Yen Press Licenses Yoshiki Tonogai’s Doubt (Kuriousity)
It’s new manga license time! Anime News Network reported last week that Yen Press has licensed Yoshiki Tonogai’s manga series, Doubt.

According to the official website, the TV Anime K will be aired this Fall, starting from October 4. The original TV Anime of the series was announced early this March and since then we have noticed lots of updates on the project.

Spike Lee Promises Old Boy Will Feature A Diverse Cast (Screen Rant)
Spike Lee is known for being a lot of things, but few (no one?) would criticize him for creating “white-washed” portraits of America throughout his films. Lee is an indie cinema pioneer whose willingness to tackle racially-charged subject matter has remained constant, on through to his upcoming film, Red Hook Summer; even his genre efforts traditionally boast a diverse acting ensemble, as far as ethnicity goes (Clockers, Insider Man). The Oldboy remake (going under the tweaked title Old Boy) is the next item on Lee’s docket.

The Sports Nippon newspaper reported on Wednesday that Hajime Isayama’s Attack on Titan manga topped 9 million copies. The newspaper did not specify if this number is for copies printed or copies sold.
