A New York Comic Con Edition of Reference Resource Mondays, Final

By , Filed in: 2012 New York Comic Con

So, this is a wrap up of New York Comic Con 2012 for me. Yes I was supposed to wrap this up last week, but I got distracted (Stupid Hurricane!). I think. Anyways, I’ve mostly covered things of importance (though I did not detail a few other panels that I went to unfortunately), and linked to other articles involving the con in this last edition. So, hope you all enjoyed the musings and observations I made, and hope you enjoy everyone else’s musings and observations too! Looking forward to covering the con again next year!

By , Filed in: 2012 New York Comic Con

Interview Segment

Oh hey look! An actual interview for this column! Isn’t it amazing what happens when you finally exert some effort to bring forth useful and fun posts! *ahem* Anyways, as I said many weeks ago, I managed to set up an interview with The Anime Network folks pre NYCC, and well, I did. I hope you all enjoy my talk with the Executive Vice President of The Anime Network, Stacy Dodson, and Online Content Manager Samantha Stevens.

New York Comic Con 2012: Publisher Panels

By , Filed in: 2012 New York Comic Con

So, at New York Comic Con I basically went to see what the publishers had in store, knowing that surely they’ll be some announcements of worth at the con right? For the most part, the panels were fine. But I shall give my thumbs up and some thumbs down to the publisher panels I ended up attending. Due to scheduling, I couldn’t attend the Funimation or Yen Press panel. Three points of knowledge: Funimation had the best announcement at NYCC, with their licensing of Mamoru Hosoda’s Wolf Children, Yen Press apparently announced their titles five minutes into the panel, and I…couldn’t stay long for the JManga Panel on Saturday due to Masakazu Katsura. Anyways, let’s go speak of the good and the bad.

A New York Comic Con Edition of Reference Resource Mondays, Part II

By , Filed in: 2012 New York Comic Con

Week two of the Refererence Resource Mondays Edition of New York Comic Con 2012, with considerably more content than last week’s NYCC RRM! And this time, this week I’ll be throwing my hat into the content ring, if only because I want to be proper and all that good stuff. I will give my take on what was good and what was bad about NYCC, give you publisher panel posts so you’ll know what happened for the most part, show off all the good stuff I ended up wasting my money on and even provide you all with what I hope will be an informative interview with the folks from The Anime Network. So go click some links and check out some reports!

A New York Comic Con Edition of Reference Resource Mondays, Part I

By , Filed in: 2012 New York Comic Con

Oh yeah…it’s been one hell of a weekend! I’m back, but tired as all heck as New York Comic Con 2012 is now over. Thankfully I’ll have a couple of days to re– no, not really, because I have school. And there’s a number of stuff I need to review/and do evaluations! Needless to say, I have a lot of explaining to do. Hopefully I’ll have my con articles next week. But that is my hope. For now, you’ll have to make do with those who wrote about the con during the weekend!

This Genius’s Plans For New York Comic Con 2012

By , Filed in: 2012 New York Comic Con

For I believe the fourth time I will be heading to New York Comic Con, with this being the second year in a row OASG will be covering the event. Unlike last year where I didn’t manage to write about part 3 of my experiences at NYCC (in other words, only managed to do 2), this year not only will I recap some of the experiences, but I will provide you pictures, panel roundups, and guarantee I’ll at least have one interview. Why? Because I’ve already set it up. I will be interviewing the Executive VP of The Anime Network and the manager of their online player. So at worst, I’ll have something for next week. Maybe. I’ll see if I can get anymore than that.
