So, there was one winter short that I covered that actually impressed me. There is one short that did not. And the reason for that is simple.
It covers the 90′s. And does a horrible job at covering it in its first episode.
Ai Mai Mi is at best, a show future manga artists should torture themselves to watch. Everyone else, just stay the heck away from this anime with the 90′s animation style and 90′s character designs. If it’s supposed to be funny, it is not, and yeah, I think the image above is the only representation I can make on this anime.
This series is streaming on Crunchyroll.

Besides the glorious mindless humor and Morita-san wa Mukuchi poster (GIVE ME MY 3RD SEASON, DAMN IT!), this one is a keeper. Hmm, I think I like Mi and the senpai most right now.
Nice NES homage credits sequence.
That was also the best part of the episode. But that was it.
I thought it was a little amusing, and I actually liked the 90′s-esque artwork–has a certain charm to it. (Than again, I’m usually pretty tolerant when it comes to “outdated” artwork.) I’ll give it another episode or two before I decide whether to drop or not.
I don’t mind the art either, but nothing else really interested me so… :p ^^
I thought the 90′s were good though so I’ll see if the first episode is as bad as you say.
I think the 90′s is good too. But the 90′s had crap as well, and Ai Mai Mi is just crap.
