In these past couple of weeks I’ve 1) turned 25 2) taken a week vacation from work, both of which resulted in me consuming more anime and manga. I have to mention the indispensability of my Roku Player during my vacation; it’s allowed me to kick back and enjoy all the latest simulcasts from the comfort of my TV. I’m still really diggin’ BTOOOM!; those episodes can’t come out fast enough. Maybe one of these days I’ll catch up to Space Brothers…
In other manga related news, I am sadsadsad face over the closing of The Manga Critic. It’s by far one of my favorite manga blogs, but thankfully there will still be occasionally posts on The Manga Bookshelf. One of my goals is to have my manga featured on Show Us Your Stuff, so I’m glad to see it may still be floating around.
I’m also glad to see more yuri manga coming down the pike; I got the first omnibus of Seven Seas’ Girlfriends for my birthday. It’s fluffy but still really compelling. I hope we’ll get more of its kind, that and more josei…
This is a weekly report on activities we’ve been taking part in during the week. It’ll generally revolve around some aspect of Japanese Culture, but usually not stray from it. These are also usually quick thoughts, so we hope you enjoy our quick take on a few of things we’ve been up to so far. You can feel free to share what you all have been up to as well.
So while all of you enjoy your Saturday, I’ll be up on probably my last school retreat. So of course I make this announcement now while I’m gone. In case you’re not following me on Twitter.
Anyways, before I’ve gone up on my little trip to somewhere, I’ve left you a couple of posts involving some pretty old anime. I have even left a poll for you guys to go fight over whether I should even decide to go blog about it. Whatever the case, I hope you’ll enjoy the post anyways. And then kill me Sunday for ditching you guys over the weekend.
